Too many streaming services - space-time - 01-16-2020 NBC (just saw the post) Disney+ Apple TV + HBO HULU Netflix Amazon Prime Fox News pushes foxnation or something like that CBS All Access I am sure there are more I forgot or I am not even aware of. I am not even talking about thins lie Sling TV, DirecTV Now, YouTube TV, etc. Those at least are subscriptions to multiple channels that compete with cable. Re: Too many streaming services - freeradical - 01-16-2020 $$$ than cable. Re: Too many streaming services - Zoidberg - 01-17-2020 I pay for only what I want. There's no commercials. I watch when I want to. I'm happy with the setup. Re: Too many streaming services - ztirffritz - 01-17-2020 Crackle Re: Too many streaming services - sekker - 01-17-2020 YouTube Premium ESPN etc These new streaming services are just becoming the modern version of networks. I checked a few months ago, even with YoutubeTV and some of these streaming services, still less than we paid for cable. Re: Too many streaming services - N-OS X-tasy! - 01-17-2020 Add AMC and EPIX to the list. Re: Too many streaming services - jdc - 01-17-2020 freeradical wrote: So true. We are this close >< to moving but we are gonna need to trim our budget. We have hulu with HBO & Starz, SHO, Netflix, Disney+, Pandora, Spotify, Apple News and DC -- plus the most basic DirecTV/net (with practically no channels, not even ESPN) and amazon prime. At least we dumped Appletv +. Has to be close to $200/mo. DTV costs the most, near $100, and we actually havent turned it on in months. Maybe we can dump it all together. Cant seem to get AirPlay to work with our smart LG TVs... using our iPads to stream to our TVs might be a something that tips us over the edge... as long as I dont have to buy a bunch of appleTV boxes. Muffman - 01-17-2020 Between classic TV, cable channels, and the new streaming services, something like 1000 new shows have been announced for 2020. I think it's going to crash and burn in a few years and only 350 to 400 shows will be in production in five to seven years. Maybe a la carte pricing will finally spread across all markets.
