Regarding “invisible” AirPods and other “true wireless” earbuds ... when they fall out? - deckeda - 01-17-2020

Even if I didn’t happen to be leaning over the North or South rim of the Grand Canyon at the moment ... how often do they fall out? Only takes once, yeah?

Reason I ask: So the other day the wife gives me her old LG Bluetooth earbuds, the kind with the yoke. For the first hour that yoke was the only thing keeping them from inevitably landing on the floor and rolling under the fridge, say.

But here’s the thing: they felt like they were secure, until I got used to shoving them in further. I saw where SkullCandy will send you just one if needed. Must be reason for it.

No problems with regular wired apple earpods -- which I guess would carry over to airpods too.

I sit at my desk, take calls, get up, move around -- never fall out nor do i get the feeling they are "unsecure". I also walk with them... same.

Same here, but the LG I was using was the normal kind with the round squishy ends. They seem more common to me?

All IEC 'buds tend to fall out of my ears unless they have memory foam tips.

I find that very comfortable and secure. Any other kind of tip eventually slips out or is very uncomfortable after some time.

EarPods, AirPods, and AirPods 2 stay in place really well and are comfortable because they rest in my ear, but no in the ear canal. The latter two stay in better because of the lack of weight on the 'buds and no cord to drag on clothes or snag on objects.

Yawning or laughing can cause one earbud of either type to fall out if I'm not careful. So I am.

AirPods Pro hurt my ears and one popped out too freqently.

i was worried about the falling out factor and held out for a long time. asked people about them and they all said it was rare. finally got a pair. they really don't fall out. i forget i have them on actually. the only time i'll lose one is when i try to take a shirt off over my head without removing them. i still would lean over th Grand Canyon with them, though...

It’s less about that and more about consuming personal content. In the old days people would listen to music on headphones. It helps with solitary road trips, doing chores around the house etc. Similar to television except you can still do some other things. Depending on the content being heard and what’s on a screen I can also listen while working on a computer.

The other thing is that podcasts are the audio version of YouTube: there can be compelling content there available nowhere else in any format.

I've run across persons who will run or walk with the phone playing music or on a phone call with the phone speaker up to their head or worse, playing on a BT speaker! When I lap them, they're still doing it.
