... make sure to rescan your TV for channels this weekend. Turns out that broadcasters have all changed their frequencies, so a lot of the old channels won't work. (I came home and at first I thought there was something wrong with the TV, I was only getting maybe 1-2 channels and no signal for everything else.)

I was pleasantly surprised that when I rescanned, I'm now getting about 55 channels. Still not my local PBS affiliate though, because they're on VHF rather than UHF and I'm still only using an indoor antenna and it's not very directional.

Why wouldn’t they do PSAs for something like this in the weeks leading up to the change? Or maybe they did?

It varies by market. My market did it last summer.

They did, but at least in my area, it was only on certain channels and not very frequent.

Consumer (i.e. sub-$100) ATSC 3.0 tuners should finally be available by the end of this year...I'm looking forward to grabbing one & testing out reception.
