MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - Microman - 02-01-2020 I have Doctors, I have Kaiser here in Southern California. I have been to doctors. Still have recurrent pain. My age is (My favorite song in High School was 96 Tears by ? and The Mysterians.). You do the math. 6 months ago, I had a left knee that was killing me. ER Visit. X-rays, MRI, was there a clot, NO. Took a trip to Rome, so had a Cortisone shot prior to leaving Was able to walk and tour. Upon returning the left leg knee was getting better by 1% a day. Las week around Wednesday I started to get the worst pain in my RIGHT left , knee and above. Dr always asks if I have a backache, and usually say no. This am, seems a little stiff. I have had numbness in some of my toes for years, and was told about possible pressure in spinal column that could cause this. So first this LEFT knee and now I get this Excruciating right leg pain, especially if I try to lift it to guide it to underwear or pants or shorts. It just kills me to lift leg. I was prescribed some gabapentin for nerve pain. Took X-rays of right knee as they did of left. Always nothing. Little old age arthritis. I am just worried that the back is sending these pains to my extremities or that I have some sort of pre symptoms for something worse. Anyone of my age, or thereabouts have pains in legs sciatic, etc... and back... any ideas would be certainly calming... Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - Dennis S - 02-01-2020 My mom has lots of pain below her waist, and it usually ends up coming from her spine. I would look into a back MRI or whatever imaging technique they use. Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - testcase - 02-01-2020 Have you ever tried Accupuncture? I used to see an MD who's primary practice was Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. I've been amazed at the results he's been able to provide. Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - wave rider - 02-01-2020 Like testcase, I like the acupuncture. I’ve also had success with a Non-Force Directional Chiropractor, much gentler than regular chiropractic treatments. Recently, Yoga has increased my flexibility. Have you had a bone density scan? Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - hal - 02-01-2020 I had one bout of sciatic pain and I don't want that to ever happen again. What a nightmare. In my case it was just WAY too much inactivity. I try to not sit for more than 30min without getting up EVER. I try to make sure that take at least a 10min walk every day. Yoga really seems like what I need, but I'm really lazy... If you're overweight, try to do something about it - you KNOW that doesn't help the situation. Hope you find some relief FAST Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - Microman - 02-01-2020 Hal, thank you , you seem to know my lifestyle.... Will try all of above... Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - modelamac - 02-01-2020 I've just finished getting rid of similar knee and leg pain. Cure: straightened my back up (alignment), and have built up muscles to keep it there (exercise). Also put higher arch insoles in my shoes. Finally able to stand up almost straight again (arthritis in back is still restrictive). I have 3 bad discs in my back, but am afraid of back surgery because of so many failure stories. My doctors have repeatedly told me my back was the cause of my leg problems. They also tell me that I can never let up on the exercise or I will revert to leg trouble. Now I have to get some strength back in my legs. Trying a bicycle for that. Microman wrote: Re: MRF for health questions. Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - richorlin - 02-02-2020 You should get an mri or xrays of your lumbar region. You could have a reptured disc or deterioration of a disc in the lumbar region. That can cause the discomfort you are experiencing i.e. pain and numbness. |
