Could this work to get a female president? - samintx - 03-08-2020 Hypothetically, Biden is elected. Names Amy as his VP..OK. They serve for 4 years then Biden doesn’t seek a second term but Amy, the VP runs for prez. She is likable today and experienced with DC...after 4 years as VP even more so and electable. ? Yes or no? Re: Could this work to get a female president? - hal - 03-08-2020 I'm kind hoping for that exact scenario. I didn't want Biden as Prez, but he's our best hope today. In general, I am 100% DONE with men governing. I am 100% ready to have women take all of the top jobs in government. Take the male ego out of washington and maybe there's a chance. Women couldn't POSSIBLY do worse. Re: Could this work to get a female president? - Dennis S - 03-08-2020 Amy, Warren, and Harris are all in the same category. Then there is Georgia's Stacy Abrams. Biden said one time he would appoint a black woman to the Court. ![]() Re: Could this work to get a female president? - SteveG - 03-08-2020 Didn't work out well for Al Gore. Re: Could this work to get a female president? - GGD - 03-08-2020 Or he could select Hillary as VP and resign during his first term (if he can get elected with Hillary as a VP choice), guaranteeing her the first female POTUS spot. Of course 45 can fire Pence, replace him with Ivanka and resign before Jan 2021, and select the first female POTUS too. Re: Could this work to get a female president? - Numo - 03-08-2020 The Democratic VP nominee is almost certainly going to have to be a woman. There’s enough bad women politicians out there, but their numbers are absolutely dwarfed by the number of bad male politicians. Yeah, I think it's very likely that Biden will pick a woman as VP candidate if he becomes the nominee. I think Harris needs more seasoning but I think she may be the right person at the right time sometime in the future. Abrams is somewhat of an enigma to me in terms of speculating about her political future. I wish she had become governor so I could get a better notion of her political skills. I think Klobuchar and Warren are the two most likely choices. My gut tells me that he will pick Klobuchar because he will feel more comfortable working with her and she probably polls a little bit better. I agree that Warren would probably be the most effective president if she were to become president, but I think Klobuchar would also be a quite effective president. Like Obama, though, either of them may face bad economic conditions while having to deal with slimeball McConnell that will, at best, do nothing to help them help the country. So when I say either of these women are likely to effective, I mean effective relative to the challenges they face. |
