"A Microsoft-commissioned study estimates that Windows Vista could create 100,000 new IT-related jobs in the United States."

No wonder IT staffs are so hostile to Macs.

Bingo! Jimbo .

This is a chance to send an email to the CEO of every company you own stock in, your school board , your congressmen , etc and ask them to not waste your money by funding all those jobs

I've told the story before, but I worked for an international firm some years ago that was split with Macs and PCs (which were mostly in the CAD departments). There was a big conference on standardizing platforms, though it wasn't really needed (the two departments did separate types of work, so there was no need to "simplify").

The IT department was given the task of deciding what to do. Now, think about that. Your department is given a choice of standardizing to a platform, and the choices are:

(a) one that will need your attention continually and thus provide job security

or

(b) one that will require very little attention and thus require laying off of much of your department

What do you think they picked?
