Factory Reconditioned Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB Serial-ATA Hard Drive

Not sure how great this deal is, but it may fit the bill for certain uses.

Good for something perhaps, but the $/GB ratio comes in at 12.5 cents, not spectacular, but not bad either.

80GB SATA's seem like the least desired of all hard drives since that was the smallest base HD shipped in the G5, so nobody would be able to 'upgrade' their system with one of these. Even 160GB SATA's are sort of becoming useless.

I'd not put a reconditioned DiamondMAx Plus 9 model 80gB drive in use even if it was free. Sure there are uses - paper weight comes to mind... Those older gen Maxtors just were not reliable.
