Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - Racer X - 05-29-2020 I took out the pillow-shaped NewerTech replacement battery ![]() Anyone know what size Torx the trackpad takes? Is it a T8? Also the 5 pointed star screwdriver for those batteries? Re: Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - GGD - 05-29-2020 I thought the batteries used a 3 pointed "Y" shaped screw head. And since you needed to removed them to get the battery out, what tool did you actually use? Re: Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - btfc - 05-29-2020 Yeah, Tri-lobe. Re: Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - Racer X - 05-29-2020 These screws were/are 5 pointed. The 3rd party battery came with a 5 pointed screwdriver, but was 1 size too small. Was able to grab the outside of the screw head with small needle nosed pliers and get them to turn. Might be replacement screws from the NewerTech battery, but then how would the eBay vendor know that anyway? Re: Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - btfc - 05-29-2020 15” ? I rescued a white unibody MacBook last year from the same terrible disease. Re: Got my trackpad to work again in my 2009 MBP. - NewtonMP2100 - 05-30-2020 .....so back on .....track.....???? |
