AppleCare+ for new MBP? - wave rider - 05-29-2020 Forgot about my Covid bonus, thinking more about a MBP. Is AppleCare+ a worthwhile addition? Laptops usually don't, and so far we're in the black. Re: AppleCare+ for new MBP? - vision63 - 05-29-2020 I have a 2017 MacBook Pro 15" that is suffering from a swelling battery. I've been waiting on an Apple Store to open up. They have a recall on some of the 2017's but when I put my serial number in the form, it says mine doesn't qualify. So we'll swe what they'll tell me to do about it when I do get to take it to them. I didn't buy the over $400 something AppleCare. So... I added AppleCare+ to my purchase. The new 13" MBPR? Maybe not. The only real hardware changes are the updated CPU and the keyboard. I think the extended warranty is a necessity on these newer systems - especially with the history of issues last 4 years.
