I thought the iPhone SE (2016) was GSM compatible? - Jerry® - 09-08-2020 I got a used iPhone SE (2016) that I was intending to use as a second line and when i looked it up it said it was GSM and CDMA compatible. I get the SIM card for the service (which happens to be GSM) and it shows “NO SERVICE” even after multiple troubleshooting steps. The customer rep I talked to said the phone was NOT GSM compatible i which is weird because it activated the phone number, etc when i put the SIM in....so......I’m confused....?? ![]() Re: I thought the iPhone SE (2016) was GSM compatible? - GGD - 09-08-2020 What's the model number of this SE (Settings>General>About)? Here are the different models and the bands they support, what carrier are you trying to use? Any chance that the phone is "carrier locked"? https://www.whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/Will-my-iPhone-SE-work-on-another-carrier There certainly are 2016 SE models that work on GSM, I have several on AT&T, they were purchased as "Unlocked". Re: I thought the iPhone SE (2016) was GSM compatible? - JoeH - 09-09-2020 It is beginning to look like the phone may be carrier locked, it should work on t-Mobile. Original owner could have not finished contract or did not get the phone unlocked after finishing their contract. Or the phone is stolen or was unclaimed lost & found. |
