What 802.11g router/card for my Dad's PC and laptop? - stephen - 12-21-2006

I use the 802.11b network when I'm home, and he mostly uses the 802.11b laptop card in RV parks.

I thought I might go ahead and upgrade both with like-branded compatible G cards and routers.

What brand do you recommend/trust, and is the extra 108mbps worth the money vs the 54mbps models?

I just opted for a D-Link deal on Amazon. Both (108mbps version) for $99. Seems like the N standard isn't really developed yet. Hopefully this will work fine.

If you stay with the same brands then it is easier if he needs tech support. It is harder for brand X card maker to blame Brand Y router.

I swear by Buffalo and they have good tech support.
Linksys and Belkin have pretty go set up routines.
