Bingo. I think this was a lose-lose for the GOP. I actually thought Schumer said it quite well when he said-- now is not the time to be stingy and penny-pinching.

The Democrats need to act fast now because reconciliation rules will probably stretch things out for a few weeks (or more?) before they can get money flowing.
