Everybody get through the nor'easter OK? - MrNoBody - 02-03-2021
I stayed hunkered down for two days but went out yesterday with no
problems. Roads were cleared and relatively dry.
Waiting for the next blast of winter!

Didn't even need the snowblower where I am in NE Ohio. Lake Erie has no ice in my area, so I'm warmer than people 20 miles south. Kind of nice. The kitten is napping on her chair in front of the window where she watches birds at the feeder.

For all the warnings, for us it amounted to a dusting and a bit of ice on Monday morning, most of which melted by Monday afternoon.

It wasn’t pretty here, maybe 14” of very dense snow and heavy wind, but my vaccination clinic opened on Tuesday. Phew. If my plow guy wasn’t a POS, or my tractor was here, it wouldn’t have been a big deal.

A miserable sort of winter storm here: heavy, wet,compacted snow, that had so much water and the temp being above freezing that it amounted to about 4" but weighed the equivalent of 14".

Here in the Connecticut River Valley the forecast was for 5-8" of snow, 12-18" in the hills to the west and east of here. The sun in the early part of the afternoon here Tuesday did cause the snow to pack down a bit, but there was at least 6" of snow when I went out to shovel.
The towns up in the hills did get that foot or more of snow.

Being in the lowest part of the valley, it's almost like we have a dome over our town that keeps out the bad weather and good businesses. JoeH says 6 inches, I would have guessed 8, but close enough amongst friends. I am glad it was the light fluffy stuff, not the heavy wet that was predicted.

We got about 16 inches and our town's plow added about another 16 inches to my driveway:
