Both NVMe cases and USB C hubs are pretty small, so combining into 1 slightly larger makes sense. =) As long as it dissipates heat well, seems OK. one review said it wasn't bus powered? If true, maybe not the best option for a portable setup Re: Interesting combo Tbolt dock and NVME enclosure - Robert M - 02-04-2021 Anon, I doubt it is a certified device. Here are other links: Not much info except they don't mention any type of Thunderbolt certification. I wouldn't purchase it. Robert Re: Interesting combo Tbolt dock and NVME enclosure - OWC Larry - 02-04-2021 Based on the little can see - no way it's certified... highly questionable it's going to work right for all normal expectations, let alone, ongoing OS changes. The JHL7440 chipset listed in a TB3 TitanRidge... honestly, TB4 isn't that big a deal - but they apparently don't even know what this is supposed to be? There are no Thunderbolt 3/4/USB-C displays that daisy-chain... why they show both Thunderbolt ports on their product going to one computer..... I'd say - have fun with that one understanding the risk it presents. lol. ![]() Re: Interesting combo Tbolt dock and NVME enclosure - jdc - 02-04-2021 OWC Larry wrote: LOL, I couldnt figure that out either. It was a lot of broken English and weird translations. still, an interesting concept in a small form factor. Re: Interesting combo Tbolt dock and NVME enclosure - anonymouse1 - 02-04-2021 Great point re OS changes. Yeah, it looks sketchy. Still, an interesting concept. For the $$, I'd rather get a separate enclosure and dock from OWC. But that's less of an issue now the Thunderbolt "hubs" are a real thing (assuming one has an OS & computer that supports TB hubs). |
