maskless jerk refused service at Pasadena restaurant - comes back with gun to steal chicken & waffles - hal - 02-04-2021 https://abc7.com/armed-man-demands-food-from-roscoes/10294811/ The incident happened at the Roscoe's location on Lake Avenue in Pasadena around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday. Police and restaurant officials say when the suspect first walked into the restaurant to order, he was turned away because he wasn't wearing a mask and was told he could return if he was wearing one. Instead, he showed up at the back of the restaurant with a gun. At first restaurant staff was confused as to what he wanted because the cash registers were in front. Cook Robert Gonzalez was in the kitchen when the suspect walked in. "He comes straight toward me with a gun, pointing at me and saying put all the chicken in the bag," Gonzalez said. The suspect demanded they turn over food - chicken, waffles, syrup - to him. No word on exactly what quantity of food he was able to grab, but the man ran off. Re: maskless jerk refused service at Pasadena restaurant - comes back with gun to steal chicken & waffles - Ted King - 02-04-2021 I hope they had cameras back there to get video to identify him - or was he wearing a mask when he came back with a gun? Re: maskless jerk refused service at Pasadena restaurant - comes back with gun to steal chicken & waffles - SteveG - 02-04-2021 If they had offered him a mask, that may have reduced the chances of this taking place. For, instance, i asked for a mask at a token booth on the subway yesterday and was rewarded with an excellent quality mask, much better than a plain surgical, more like a padded N95. (The mask I was wearing had gotten wet from cold air/condensation.) Re: maskless jerk refused service at Pasadena restaurant - comes back with gun to steal chicken & waffles - hal - 02-04-2021 if you follow the link, there is video of the guy - after he was refused, he just went to his car, grabbed a gun and went right back in - without a mask. Didn't try to hide his identity. Wasteful. I'm sure that the majority of the people who get these masks just throw them on the ground when the get out and get another one at the next stop. You see the temporary store issued masks littered all over the place in parking lots in shopping centers. Turn them away or they can buy their own mask. Sell the masks to them so they have some skin in the game and don't just toss it. Donate the money to an environmental cause to offset the environmental disaster that using disposable masks is causing. There really isn't any excuse for people to not have reusable cloth masks almost a year into this. How many will end up in waterways? Most of them I bet. Re: maskless jerk refused service at Pasadena restaurant - comes back with gun to steal chicken & waffles - hal - 02-05-2021 wth??? Damn, these threads wander in the strangest ways... let me ask y'all - how many wasted masks are you will to deal with to save a life? 1000 lives? Litter can be cleaned up, but death is permanent. |
