USPS and UPS , how to you refuse delivery if not home - Microman - 02-11-2021

I ordered some Ink Carts from a company that is only 1 mile from my home. They use to have a retail door for walk-ins and that was great. They closed that.

So I ordered 9 Carts on the 6th, on the 8th I discover they are being sent from PA and won't arrive until Saturday the 13th. So I call and ask sales person do you have some combination of carts that are local, and I order 5 color, and now I discover they also will be delivered on the same Saturday the 13th, even though they are coming from Long Beach, Ca.

I was told if I didn't want their order to refuse delivery, but one is USPS and the other is UPS, ..so how do I refuse delivery if I am not home when they drop it off?

I ordered 8 carts for almost 1/2 the price with free shipping thats suppose to arrive tomorrow the 11th. We shall see.

Thanks...

So, the USPS was the last mile of delivery?

Don't open the package, draw a line through your address, write refused boldly on the face, and take the unopened package to the PO.

There's no charge, if the package wasn't opened.

edit: I don't think you can do this with packages delivered to your door by other carriers.
