LG front loader. Not sure how old. has WiFi, so it can't be that old.

Door gasket is crap, full of mold, no amount of cleaning will fix it. I found the gasket for around $120 (probably + shipping) and a 6 minute video on how to do it.

so I am thinking for a few hundred more I can get a new washer, warranty, and avoid the labor. Plus with my luck, something else will break next.
I am not in a rush to do it, I can wait a sale. I don't know anyone who could use the washer. Some of my friends have better units, and those who could use it are unable to repair it, or would ask me questions later. So I'll probably just recycle it.

If you do unload it, it would be nice to give it to Habitat for Humanity Restore. Ours has technicians who come by and fix appliances. Ours will also come by and pick up big stuff. They took a spa that had a bad motor and said their guy could fix it without any problem. Our Salvation Army doesn't have that repair capability.

I'll keep that in mind. I was looking at Costco and a similar unit is north of $1000, so when wife heard that I don't want to do the repair, she said the I will do the repair, LOL.
I am not sure what I'll do, probably 50/50 at this point.

Paying $1,000+ to avoid a $150 repair seems ridiculous to me, not to mention being environmentally unsound. Even if you had a technician come out to repair it I can't see how it could cost more than about $150 labor charge at the outside.

I can sympathize, sometimes you just feel like unloading something and starting fresh to avoid the worry. I did the same thing with my last car, but it was a 2005 with over 200K miles, had some issues and I was able to donate it for a tax purposes.
If you are too busy to make the repairs yourself I definitely agree to hire someone.
