A car driven by golf legend Tiger Woods crashed in Southern California on Tuesday, causing serious injuries, officials said.
Woods' vehicle was going north on Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse road, on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, when it crashed and sustained "major damage," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
"Mr. Woods was extracted from the wreck with the 'jaws of life,' " the sheriff added.

He was rushed into surgery at a nearby hospital where he was treated for a compound fractures in at least one leg, law enforcement sources said.
That does not sound good for anyone, let alone a golf pro.

Tiger has had so many surgeries, and always comes back strong. But this sounds awful and I truly hope this is not a DUI situation.

That's just a few miles south of his old childhood stomping grounds. Hopefully no more bad news comes out of this.

True, but I suspect the compound leg fractures may pose a more immediate challenge, not to mention the likelihood of TBI from a crash like this.
