Biden wants to reverse Trump's tax cut for the rich - SteveG - 04-01-2021

Biden wants to reverse Trump's tax cut for the rich.

Unless you get more than $400,000 a year, this won't touch you. This proposal will restore the taxes to before trump and the Republicans voted the Trillion Dollar Giveaway.

Did you notice that the GOPers never raised an eyebrow at the looting of the nation's treasury when it was for them and theirs?

If anyone bothered to poll a broad spectrum of Americans about this plan, they should simply ask if the $400K threshold seems fair.

Given how many people make easily less than that, I'd wager the approval for this plan would be deafening, and not "a struggle" that needs selling.

You seem to be implying that the proposal is to weak and ought to raise the corporate rate higher, did I misunderstand you?

You misunderstand me.

The marginal personal income tax rate in the 1950s topped out at 91%. However, that's not the full story.

...For the middle part of the 20th century, companies were shouldering a large share of the burden of government – as much as 40% of all government revenue came from corporate taxes...
...Today, that burden has dropped to about 7%, while individual income taxes cover nearly half the government tab.
