Trip to Arby's was a mix of humanity's pettiness and graciousness - pRICE cUBE - 04-02-2021

On the way to Arby's, I was honked at twice. The first incident was not immediately hitting the gas the mount the light turned green. I wasn't on my phone or fiddling with the radio, just didn't punch it the exact moment the light turned green. A bit later, I was making a left hand turn around a building and a wrong way driver obstructed my path. Both of us stopped, he reversed and turned around. A vehicle two cars behind mine could not see the obstructed and laid it on the horn during most of the wrong way driver's reversal maneuver. I just shook my head and kept driving to my destination. These impatient hot heads just assume people stop in the road for no reason.

While waiting in line at Arby's, I was reflecting on how society seems to have resumed its pre-pandemic nastiness. I recalled how I perceived pandemic traffic to be more civil and thought how it was too bad that some people had returned to being awful and petty. As I was leaving with my 5 for $5 deal, a man came in a handed an employee $100 and said. "The employees here are always so helpful to me. Please split this tip with the staff". That generous patron not only rewarded the employees but helped me be less of a curmudgeon. Hope we all can focus on being kind in these still difficult times.

I have a finger I use for unnecessary honkers.

I agree the horn was wrong in the first instance, but feel it was ok in the second instance. The second horn was not meant for you. It was meant for the party causing the delay. I've had that happen a number of times and have learned to accept others' impatience. For all they know, the delay could be caused by a phone user. The horn probably won't do any good, but it relieves pressure.Confusedmiley-signs003:
