The recirculators seem more expensive, so that's a strike against them.

Instant.

I had a small conventional for the guest bath but I also have a crawl space to put it.

Under the sink...... not a but load of room.

Instant on

We have an instant hot water dispenser from Insinkerator and love it. The water comes out at 185 degrees which makes it great for tea, cocoa, coffee, ramen, etc. If you want it cooler, we just mix it with cold water. Honestly, we can't imagine not having it.

We tried circulating the water for a similar problem and our gas bill went thru the roof. We currently use an instant hot water unit (electric).

Can you set the temperature lower from the start? I just need it to wash dishes by hand.

There is a dial on the front to set the temp, but the low is 160. I wash by hand with it by filling a glass with the near boiling water and soap, then just pour it on each dish as I wash it.
