FWIW: A huge sytematic review has found no link between vaccines and autism... - Sarcany - 06-28-2021

FYI:

SoE="Strength of evidence"

Febrile seizures are brief convulsions, typically lasting less than 5 minutes and posing little or no risk in and of themselves. They may stem from fever.

TLDR: Vaccines are pretty safe. Even for pregnant women.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34049735/

Results: Of 56,603 reviewed citations, 338 studies reported in 518 publications met inclusion criteria. For children, SoE was high for no increased risk of autism following measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. SoE was high for increased risk of febrile seizures with MMR. There was no evidence of increased risk of intussusception with rotavirus vaccine at the latest follow-up (moderate SoE), nor of diabetes (high SoE). There was no evidence of increased risk or insufficient evidence for key adverse events for newer vaccines such as 9-valent human papillomavirus and meningococcal B vaccines. For adults, there was no evidence of increased risk (varied SoE) or insufficient evidence for key adverse events for the new adjuvanted inactivated influenza vaccine and recombinant adjuvanted zoster vaccine. We found no evidence of increased risk (varied SoE) for key adverse events among pregnant women following tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis vaccine, including stillbirth (moderate SoE).

Opponents would say, "who funded those studies?"

Every single medical study in the entire history of humankind was funded by George Soros.

or Bill Gates.

but, but, what if I am the parent who has the kid who is 1 in a million? How will I live with myself? :RollingEyesSmiley5:

Far greater chance you will be the parent of the one in 500 Americans who are now dead................

My mother, my partner's mom, my aunt and my grandmother were practicing nurses when whooping cough, polio, measles, scarlet fever, and all that was permanently changing the course of childrens' lives.

Today's parents just don't have that historical knowledge.

And thanks to them, we may repeat that history that they have forgotten.

...or that we've neglected/refused to teach them - comes out pretty much the same either way.

Former medical doctor Andrew Wakefield presented fraudulent research linking the MMR vaccine and autism that was published by The Lancet in 1998. The research was later debunked.

Sadly, the rising ability of the Internet to spread false and misleading information amplified this hoax.

Even when it is told by those who remember, too often the response is that it couldn't have been that bad. But I have indirect knowledge of how bad it could be from several sources.

For example, my father was the only surviving child of my grandparents. He had an older brother I am named after who died of one of those childhood diseases almost nobody dies from now. My father was about 6.

Other examples were some of the people my age or slightly older who had been among the last to contract polio before the vaccines were fully out there. One I encountered in 6th grade, he joined our class while his twin sister was in the next grade up. He had suffered kidney damage as a side effect, and had lost a year while getting a transplant.
