Gattaca and Bound were part of a hastily scheduled movie night for a group of friends. There was usually a stated theme for movie nights but not this time. The organizer requested suggestions after the fact. I made a nomination that made her briefly react before remembering everyone attending were now adults. The original group was formed when some were tweens and those movies might not have been approved by their parents ten years earlier.

One of my favorite films of 1997, which is saying something. In addition to all of the box office darlings and forgettable Star Wars special editions, there was L.A. Confidential, Waiting For Guffman, Lost Highway, Grosse Pointe Blank, Contact, The Game, The Sweet Hereafter, Good Will Hunting, The Apostle, and more (!).
