"Biden Deserves Credit, Not Blame, for Afghanistan" By David Rothkopf - $tevie - 08-31-2021 America’s longest war has been by any measure a costly failure, and the errors in managing the conflict deserve scrutiny in the years to come. But Joe Biden doesn’t “own” the mayhem on the ground right now. What we’re seeing is the culmination of 20 years of bad decisions by U.S. political and military leaders.https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/08/biden-deserves-credit-not-blame-for-afghanistan/619925/ Re: "Biden Deserves Credit, Not Blame, for Afghanistan" By David Rothkopf - hal - 08-31-2021 I'm convinced that within a year, everyone is gonna be talking about how brave Biden was to get the hell out and stay the hell out of Afghanistan. Yes, but who you going to put in front of the committee for the photo ops that gives the right a thrill like Hillary? Joe's not going to testify. Blinken is not a lightning rod like Hillary. That leaves military brass to explain why Afghanistan failed, and pillorying the military would not go over well with the heartland. There will be bluster, but both sides have a vested interest in not turning over too many rocks in this one. Re: "Biden Deserves Credit, Not Blame, for Afghanistan" By David Rothkopf - deckeda - 09-01-2021 McCarthy is to give more of his astute thoughts today about the subject. In recent days he’s had a spaniel’s attention span when it comes to forming cogent responses. At one point he said decisions should be left up to the military for how long we should have stayed. These people remain batshit crazy, and yet their criticism is supposed to be credible??
