Looking at you, wells fargo.

On occasion, I might grab the wrong card OR enter card info too quickly to notice that something specifies debit rather than credit. Disabling cash advance prevents that being being a problem.

I always thought that if you were asked to enter a PIN then the transaction was being processed as a Debit, otherwise it would be processed as a Credit Card. I never use any of my cards for a Debit transaction unless I'm withdrawing cash at my bank's ATM, and that's the only time I ever enter a PIN. My bank issued card will work as either a Debit or Credit Card, but I only use it with my bank's ATM.

Wells Fargo, that’s a hard no, for anything.

We just got new Citi credit cards with tap-to-pay. When I tap at our grocery store a PIN is demanded. I have no pin so I have to insert it in the card chip reader and all is well. Must be internal to the merchant’s system.

I get a cash advance fee constantly on my Citi credit card. I never use it as debit and don't even know a pin (nor have I ever been asked for one). So the charge shows up but then it goes away and never appears on the final statement.

Exactly. Such a shame, too - Wells Fargo used to be a great bank.

They were bought by Worst (First) Union and they took the WF name because everyone knew how horrible Worst Union was. They spoil everything they touch.
Too bad for WF
