I just had a thought about Tom Brady's retirement. - wurm - 01-31-2022
What if this whole breaking news before it's confirmed crap was all part of a set up? Brady drops hints. Two supposed "insiders" break the story that he's done.
But Brady's father says no decision has been made.
Bucs GM says Brady hasn't made a decision yet.
Brady's agent say's "Unless Brady said it, it doesn't count." And it grows and grows.
Meanwhile, Brady gets pissed because he's not the one being able to make his own announcement. So he effectively says "Okay smart-asses, you're wrong. I am coming back for one more season."
And he makes an announcement...wait for it...on Groundhog Day! The GOAT 'sees his shadow' and we get one more year to marvel at greatness.
Okay, maybe that's just the way I'd like to see it play out.

Even Tampa Bay doesn't want him off the roster til June . It has to do with how they cheat the salary cap .

I read that a $15M bonus was due in a few days - if he's gonna retire, he'd wait until after getting the bonus - right?

But, Friday morning he got a call from Art Rooney II...
