Dryer musical alarms - S. Pupp - 04-15-2022 My old dryer had a musical alert to signal that the clothes are dry. The new dryer has an extremely loud buzz, 1970’s style. Does anyone here know where I can find a simple musical alarm that I could install? I just spent 30 minutes searching online, with no success. Thanks in advance. Re: Dryer musical alarms - Bernie - 04-15-2022 Simple, no. What tells the buzzer to go off is inside on a circuit board at the input to the buzzer. So you unsolder, maybe unplug the buzzer and attach wires and run them out the back to attach to that happy sound that works on the same low voltage. Use duc tape to muffle the buzzer or remove is best option. :oldfogette: Re: Dryer musical alarms - testcase - 04-15-2022 I’ve ONLY had dryers that “buzzed loudly” (over 40 years of owning dryers). I never knew that anything else was available. Re: Dryer musical alarms - wurm - 04-15-2022 "Hey, Siri. When you hear a loud buzzer, play ___ even louder." Re: Dryer musical alarms - S. Pupp - 04-15-2022 In the olden days, I’d have taken a musical doorbell IC from Radio Shack, coupled it to an LM383 amp, replaced the buzzer with a relay, and Bob’s your uncle. These days, though, I have neither the energy, motivation, nor concentration to do this.
