Help - Mom seems to have messed up the lightning socket on her new iPhone SE - stephen - 04-16-2022

She seems to have tried really hard to have plugged in a USB-C plug. Lordy.

I’m going to post a picture in a few minutes.

I think a lightning plug might have broken off in her socket.

Walk to a window or source of light and take another picture. The motion blur is making it difficult to make a determination of what is going on.

Oh, this is classic. Its a strong argument for wireless charging. Also, kids do this all the time since they're less concerned with the correct direction to pull on the cable and are more likely to just yank it, purposefully or otherwise.

Do you have a Harbor Freight nearby? https://www.harborfreight.com/mini-pick-and-hook-set-63697.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=16903385891&campaignid=16903385891&utm_content=139249965327&adsetid=139249965327&product=63697&store=135&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0umSBhDrARIsAH7FCoe_pYMTyLVWLOMIlgT9L2g2KJv0v3r1Ecu5lSGSqbarftDdkbuEsigaAu7HEALw_wcB

Thanks for the idea! There is one 20 miles away. But can’t get over in time today, and closed tomorrow. But I think I might let her charge wirelessly until my next visit.

Seems like any phone repair place could extract it.

Good point. There’s one in Statesboro.

Will do in a bit. There’s definitely something jammed in there.
