How can a sub-Reddit ban me for this? - Dennis S - 04-18-2022 I was reading this post on LegalAdvice: https://www.reddit.com/r/legaladvice/comments/u6j6ki/i_am_a_15_year_old_being_sued_for_30k/ and posted this: “Shouldn’t the injured party’s insurance pay for the damage?” I quickly got a message the post was take because of one of their rules. Awhile later I got a message I was banned from the subreddit forever. And if I raised a stink I would be banned from all of Reddit. Edit: I see where the OP itself was deleted now. Here’s what a mod said to me after I made a case for my question: “ Can I defend myself and say maybe I’m naive and that I thought if the injured party was made whole by their insurance company, they would have no reason to sue? No. Because you were posting things that were incorrect. And you're still incorrect. The injured party would have no reason to sue if made whole, but the insurer would have reason to sue. I wasn’t being a jerk or smart alec and don’t think I should be permanently banned for being naive? You weren't banned for being a jerk or a smart alec. You were banned for not having the requisite knowledge to post here.” Re: How can a sub-Reddit ban me for this? - Will Collier - 04-18-2022 Original post was yanked as well apparently. Most threads have one or more deleted posts. I don’t know why they would yank a whole thread because of a naive post. I’ve had lots of replies or questions removed because they were too short. I was taught in English class to be succinct. Re: How can a sub-Reddit ban me for this? - DP - 04-19-2022 Wow. That’s crazy. A lot of that going around these days... |
