Oreos defy physics - Ombligo - 04-19-2022 Mechanical engineers from MIT have determined that there is no consistent way to split the cream of an Oreo cookie evenly between the wafers when splitting them into halves. Researchers devised an Oreometer, a device designed to split the cookie with a scientifically precise amount of torque. They hoped that the perfect twist might manipulate the cookie's filling to distribute evenly between the two wafer cookies. Alas, they could not. https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/19/us/oreo-filling-study-scn/index.html Personally, I like Fig Newtons better anyway. Re: Oreos defy physics - N-OS X-tasy! - 04-19-2022 Not surprising, considering that you would probably classify the creme filling as a fluid. As soon as you do that, all sorts of random factors can come into play. Re: Oreos defy physics - NewtonMP2100 - 04-19-2022 ....but when my pants split in half....its always in the same way.... Re: Oreos defy physics - lost in space - 04-19-2022 Lasers. They need to use LASERS! Re: Oreos defy physics - Z - 04-19-2022 lost in space wrote: And SHARKS! Also thinking it'll work better if/when the Oreos are chilled sufficiently before slicing. Those mechanical engineers at MIT are so obviously morons; they really need to get out more often. Heck, Tim the Beaver could the job! ![]() ![]() == Re: Oreos defy physics - testcase - 04-19-2022 lost in space wrote: There, I fixed that for you. Re: Oreos defy physics - RAMd®d - 04-20-2022 Guillotine. I've sworn off traditional Oreo Double Stuff and now just do the lemon flavored variety. Re: Oreos defy physics - Filliam H. Muffman - 04-20-2022 I guess "Stuff Your Own, Megastuff" is not in their local stores. ![]() Re: Oreos defy physics - PeterB - 04-20-2022 Am I the only one who thought of using nichrome wire? That'd slice right through that sucker, easily. Of course, you might be left with a drippy mess, but hey, it's all for science. :yum: |
