T-Mobile internet questions. - RgrF - 05-02-2022
I've ordered and installed the modem with the intent to go streaming and cut off Spectrum. I'm stumped about how to connect various TVs with the feed they currently get through cable.
Anyone care to explain to me what a simpleton I am?

Most of my TV’s are wireless capable. I just setup to use them via wifi

Are all of your TV sets ‘smart’ to accept streamable WiFi? If not you will need to add a streaming device such as a Roku, Apple or Firestick. I would also consider an OTA antenna depending on your location. I use a Tablo which adds 2 OTA tuners and an external hard drive for recording live broadcasts. Tablo has an app for Roku and it will send a WiFi signal to any streamable TV to eliminate the need to run coax.

Wirless should work fine.
There are also a couple of Ethernet ports on there as well, IIRC...mine is way on top of a shelf to get the best reception as I test it out.
So far it's faster & cheaper than my Spectrum wired broadband.

If you do decide to use a Tablo dual tuner for OTA they regularly have refurbs on sale for around $70 and you can buy your own external hard drive so best bang for the buck. If I can set one up anyone can and there are no monthly fees required. This ‘lite’ unit is apparently not future proof (atsc 3). See overview below. Also, if you are running t mobile you probably are getting the streaming freebies such as Netflix.

One of my TVs is a new Roku, guess I'll need to check it out again.
Just looked and found 105 down, 62 up. When I checked two nights ago it was substantially higher for both.

That should be plenty of speed for several TV sets streaming at the same time, plus surfing, gaming, etc. Make sure your’re getting what you are paying for speed wise with your provider. Also check to see if there is a data cap and track what your usage is to avoid extra charges. Your provider may not have a cap hopefully. Hope this helps.

That's much faster than my Tmobile home. I usually get 50 down, 15 up. I can run at least 4 streaming without problems.

100 down, 30 up over Wi-Fi using the standalone Speedtest application on my Mac for T-Mobile Home Internet via the "silver trashcan."
Versus 75 down, 20 up on Spectrum (older combo modem/Wi-Fi router, only supports up to 100MB down)
$50 versus $70 (unbundled, no promo pricing on either)
