The agreement would provide funding for mental health, incentives for the creation of so-called "red flag" laws to remove firearms from people who are a danger to themselves or others, increase money for school safety and strengthen the federal background check system as it relates to convicted domestic violence abusers or those with restraining orders. There would be an investigation period for buyers under 21 years of age to review juvenile and mental health records, including checks with state databases and local law enforcement

I'm glad they are doing something...but I don't believe that it will accomplish much or solve the basic problem of hundreds of millions of guns flooding America.

Oh good! The NRA writes another "gun" bill that is about everything they want to blame and mostly avoids the core problems.
So it won't help all that much because it lacks teeth, and as the violence continues the gunners can say, see, new laws don't work. Don't bother.
This set of ideas, which may not even become law, is not what the people are asking for. Which is a sign that our democracy is failing.

That agreement is a fDELETEucking joke. It essentially makes no guarantees of doing anything that will make a difference, while giving air to those things that are merely distractions.

The NRA thinks even the slightest change to gun laws is a slippery slope to door-to-door confiscation, and I'm sure will keep all yea votes on its target list.
