” Actor Anne Heche will be taken off life support on Sunday, nine days after suffering severe injuries in a fiery car crash, as a compatible person was found to receive her donated organs, a spokesperson said.”
News outlets are also reporting that the LAPD will be suspending further investigation of the incident.
”As of today, there will be no further investigative efforts made in this case," the LAPD said in a statement to PEOPLE hours after Anne Heche was confirmed dead”

This seems kinda fishy. There are (multiple) waiting list for organ donations — how is it they had to find the “right” recipient for this particular donor’s organs? How is it one recipient will receive ALL her organs? And how is it that the recipient gets to skip ahead of all the people currently on waiting lists?

Too much information is being shared publicly about this case. When my Dad died in a traffic accident, the donations were handled behind the scenes. Mom simply signed off on donating “anything you can use”. Bits of Dad may very well live on in over 30 people.
Or as my sister said in the eulogy : “We recycled Dad”.

I understand that. You're missing my point. This is being reported as if all her organs are going to a single recipient. That seems extraordinarily unlikely to me.

Since we don't know what organs were donated, I'd say is possible that there weren't that many, so a few going to one person doesn't seem particularly unlikely to me.

Given an understandable dearth of detailed information, and the relative import of this aspect of the story to so much else that is at hand, I would say there are far worthier targets for any clouseauian deductive instincts that may be champing at the bit to be exercised.

There is simply no reason to trust the veracity of the reporting in a case like this where by law, most of the information can't be made public. "A spokesperson" said something doesn't mean there is whole and accurate information.

As I recall, there was the possibility of drug intoxication as a contributing factor in this crash. I wonder if this might affect which organs were actually suitable for donation and who might be appropriate to receive them.

News outlets don't vet sources or information anymore. It's a race to be the first to report it.

Or might have been damaged beyond use as a result of the crash and/or burns. Did she have issues with drug addiction? That could cause issues as well.
