Never seen one of those before. Looks like a pregnant Porsche.

That's almost as ugly as a Citroen. Almost. :wall:

IMHO Zagato never got the entire design quite right. There was always something a little bit off; nose too low, windows too tall, rear overhang too long, etc.

Various details suggest that car was built to (hopefully) win races, not to be pretty. Though they were done by an entirely different design house, the influence of Bertone's BAT aerodynamic experiments in that car's shape seems pretty clear, or maybe you just don't see many fastback Alfa Romeos from that period.

Swimming against the tide as ever, I like it. It has a purposeful, no-nonsense quality about it as do most "Gentleman's racer" cars that were designed to be driven to the track, raced competitively, than driven back home afterwards. Also I have an inexplicable weakness for Alfa Romeos that began the first time I sat in an Alfetta GTV in 1980.

I'm not wild about the baby blue color, but bonus points awarded for it being any color other than red.

Front end resembles the Karmann Ghia or maybe the Ghia resembles the Romero.

Reminds me of the first generation Tauras.

no Thanks

geesh! ugly as a citroen!!??!

Zagato is a fave coach from the 40's thru the 70s (weren't many cars after the 70s of any kind any way, much like pop music & film).

There at least used to be a bunch of those that raced at Laguna Seca at the historic races, and you'd have to see them in person to believe how much better they look than the above pic. And they give at least the 289 cobras a run, which is pretty impressive. I love Alfas in general though.

Nevermind, I was thinking of the Guilia TZ maybe? But they look a lot the same.

Zagato has an interesting flair to their designs that not everyone appreciates, but they have designed a few that I don't think anyone would disagree are beautiful (a couple of the Aston Zagatos, etc.)
