This is in your yard - beady red eyes and all - Ombligo - 10-22-2022



It is a photo of an ant taken using reflected light with 5X objective lens magnification. The photo was taken by Dr. Eugenijus Kavaliauskas and submitted to the Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition.

Those aren't the eyes. You're looking at the bases of the antennae.

There's one eye in the picture, but it's deep in shadow towards the right side. You have to lighten it a lot to see the eye.

For some reason, I have a feeling that this is more than 5x magnification...
