Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - tuqqer - 12-18-2022 I've never looked into it until today, as it's part of the paid version of iCloud (I've stuck with the free 5Gb all these years). But a business partner is overly sensitive about using any website that uses cookies, and I'm looking for a solution (probably Chrome with one of its cookie-deleting extensions). But it got me wondering about Private Relay. Anyone using it? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212614 Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - sekker - 12-18-2022 Comes on automatically - and gets shut off by AT&T and others. This visibility into how my internet traffic is being monitored and stored is interesting and good for consumers. When Apple offers a true integrated VPN that cannot be overruled, I'll be all-in. Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - tuqqer - 12-18-2022 Interesting. Sounds like it's still pretty beta then, if major carriers are blocking it. sekker wrote: Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - Fritz - 12-18-2022 I guess this is not the same as a Private window in FFx or the like? Or auto cookie delete in FFx? Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - tuqqer - 12-18-2022 Fritz wrote: Fritz, I'd never really checked out FireFox. Is the feature you're referring to the one shown here in this screenshot? I like that it looks like you can have all cookies immediately delete except for say your bank account or whatever else you want to not have to re-enter settings each time. ![]() Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - Fritz - 12-18-2022 yes. that's it. There were a couple things I fkd up, but it seems to work rather well. banks, cc's, finance, couple forums, health care portals. I have perhaps 18 that I keep. one bank has been defiant. annoying. I've tried several addresses, so far none work right. Re: Anyone using Apple's Private Relay? - anonymouse1 - 12-19-2022 How does ATT turn it off? |
