The GOP field will splinter and Trump has the base locked up - 28% say they would vote for him as an independent over the GOP nominee.
It is Trumps nomination to lose.

DeSantis isn't ready for prime time yet.
Rs might like his talking points but by all accounts he's a cold fish with no charisma in-person.
He needs to work on that and shoot for 2028 for any real chance at being elected.

I think they’re keeping their powder dry. Revenge best served cold, and all that.
DeSantis’ crew already had to (quietly) back down with the taxes issue once they realized taxpayers in the affected districts were going to get stuck with a big tax bill.
