there is a thread here from a couple years back.
wonder if anyone has any long term follow up.
From what I've youtubed tonite, it's either Sylvania or 3M with Maguires coating ... maybe.
My headlights are 15 years old and I doubt they've ever been touched.
I don't want quick and not long lasting. Hoping for at least a year after doing it.

It's all just rubbing compound that is available separately. The drill attachment bits can be the difference, though. But you'll need thr drill.

It's all just rubbing compound that is available separately.
No, it's not, not for restoration.
But it works for a quick, short term fix.
The good kits include a UV protectant to use after polishing the lenses, that reduces or nearly eliminates the problem from recurring.
Without that, one would be doing it again in comparatively short order.

Sams Club had this service, $50 with 5 year warranty. I don’t know if they still offer this service and how much it costs now.

Another vote for Sams club . Walmart offers the same. UV hardened sealant makes all the difference. Polishing removes the problem, but it comes back quickly without a clear sealant.

Yes, it is a compound, at lest for the typical kits available over the counter at must auto shops. There may be more detailed kits, with varying abrasives, but they are not special. I mean, one could pay more for the kit, if one wants to, or but rubbing compound, polishing compound and wax. The anti-uv "sprays" don't work.
But the best restos use sandpaper. Look those up on the tube.
