Weird Amazon search behavior - davemchine - 11-13-2023

I’ve been having a problem where I search for a product name on Amazon and I don’t get any relevant results. Then I go to Google and search on the exact same product name and an Amazon link pops right up at the top of the list. Has anyone else experienced this?

all the freaking time.

It's because they are selling advertising slots agains search results, so you get crap instead of what you want.

I have been complaining about Bez-azon internal search for at least 7 years. As anonymouse1 mentioned, they let vendors salt internal search results. Five years ago I said I thought they might be doing it to keep people at website.

It used to be the first page of search results for big USB 3 flash drives was at most 50% flash drives.
