buh buh buh buh billion$! - Fritz - 12-14-2023 Americans suffer when health insurers place profits over people Re: buh buh buh buh billion$! - ka jowct - 12-14-2023 One of my clients was just telling me that their doctor wanted to prescribe a different med for RA. Cost: $7000 per month. It was negotiated down to a mere $2000 per month, which is still unaffordable. We have an illness-exploitation system, not a healthcare system. Re: buh buh buh buh billion$! - Fritz - 12-14-2023 speaking of "negotiating". some years ago I was without HI and ended up in the ER for something minor. The bill was insane. But I was "allowed" to pay the HI "negotiated" bill instead of the "real" bill. The difference was insane. And today, when I see my EoBs from what was billed and what was "negotiated". Insane. It's nice that the big hospital systems can negotiate. When my spouse was still in practice as a PT, Oxford sent her a note one day, no warning, they had "negotiated" her visit fee to $50. With that she had to pay the therapist, a PTA, rent, lights, bookkeeper, acct, blah, blah, blah. She closed because all the hospital systems nearby, were opening their own PT clinics and pay new grads bupkis. "negotiated" to closing. We see it in all the local private pracs the last ten years. We rely on community support to give hope to our patients." Exactly Re: buh buh buh buh billion$! - freeradical - 12-18-2023 My Mom gets Enbrel for free. My sister got in touch with the company that makes it and plead poverty. She said it wasn't hard... It even gets shipped to her for free in cold packages. |
