battlestar galactica, i missed something - davemchine - 02-20-2007 In the temple left by the 13th colony, the cylons went looking for the "final five." Why would the final five be in a human temple? Or why would they be revealed there? And lastly, why don't the cylons know about the other 5 models, why is it a secret from them? Dave Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - BigGuynRusty - 02-20-2007 The temple was built there because of the Eye of Jupiter, an energy vortex, that would reveal all, remember, the Cylons are interconnected, the "Resurrection Ship" works because of this "WiFi" connection. The Final Five, that is kept secret so that the humans can't intercept the info and use it against the Cylons. Dave "Why would the final five be in a human temple or why would they be revealed there?" Good question. There is some implication that the religion of the humans and the origin and/or destiny of the Cylons are somehow connected. "And lastly, why don't the cylons know about the other 5 models, why is it a secret from them?" Another good question. Again, there is an implication that these five are somehow or in some way special and/or different from the other seven. Possibly these five are also connected to the Lords of Kobol: http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Final_five Speculation (some spoilers) here: http://lastdebate.blogspot.com/2007/01/who-are-final-five.html http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2007/01/something_profo.html http://blog.wired.com/tableofmalcontents/2007/01/is_starbuck_a_c.html Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - Will Collier - 02-20-2007 Either that, or BSG has a "Twin Peaks" problem--meaning Ron Moore is just making up random stuff as he goes along. I love the show (at least I loved the first two seasons), but I'm detecting that "Twin Peaks" stink more and more this year... Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - SteveJobs - 02-20-2007 Does that mean an X-rated movie is in the works? Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - PeterB - 02-20-2007 Will-- I would say that if Starbuck turns out to be a Cylon, the show will have jumped the shark for me. Not because I didn't expect one of the characters we know and love to be a Cylon all along -- that has been something that has always been a possibility -- but because it would be internally inconsistent enough, so as to ruin it for me. It's fine to pull shocking twists on the viewer -- this show has done a lot of that already -- but it's not fine to pull a shocking twist which is inconsistent with what's been done already. I'm thinking particularly of Baltar and Starbuck-- if Baltar is a Cylon, then why go through the whole rigamarole of Six's seducing him to get the access codes? Why not just activate him? And Starbuck-- why perform operations on her to remove an ovary, if she's just a Cylon, who you know is not going to be able to reproduce in that fashion anyway? (The guy in the first blog of the three I linked to above, notes the same problems...) Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - SteveJobs - 02-20-2007 I just hope Caprica Six doesn't turn out to be a .....guy. Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - PeterB - 02-20-2007 SteveJobs, not likely. Check out this month's issue of Playboy. ![]() Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - Zoidberg - 02-20-2007 When does Season 3 end? And any news on the Season 3 DVD Pack? I sure wish they would have done a double release like last year (season 2.0 and Season 2.5 dvd sets). (Yes, I know it's on iTunes; no captions or subtitles though. Some of us need that.) Re: battlestar galactica, i missed something - Will Collier - 02-20-2007 There can't be more than 3 or 4 episodes left in Season 3. Ralph, here's some Chris Rose goodness for you on Fat Tuesday. Mardi Gras is for locals, and you still qualify: http://www.nola.com/search/index.ssf?/base/living-0/1171609779303630.xml?LLVCR&coll=1 |
