Dreamweaver question from a GoLive user - Greg the dogsitter - 12-13-2005

In GoLive, files that comprise a website live in their own site folder, while assets (templates, clippings, etc.) live elsewhere. The site folder is what's mirrored to the server.

In DreamWeaver, it seems that everything is in the site folder. For example, the site folder contains the Templates folder, which in turn is mirrored when the site is updated.

Is cloaking the solution? I understand that cloaking hides a folder's contents from all site operations, so that may not be what I'm looking for.

What's the DreamWeaver way of making sure that site assets don't upload?

... and that's why we use GoLive.

I learned on Pagemill and went the Adobe route to GolIve because it seemed so simple even though it produced the dreaded "Bloated Code" (which equals 1/8 of a second on Broadband now).

I can't answer your question, but wanted to show some support for GoLive.
