Hamas has the guns and the inclination to kill anyone who opposes them among Gazans. I think this article is wishful thinking at best.

just as the French resistance persevered, with assistance, so must the Gazans.
Like the extremely tiny resistance, they must decide which is worse, 100:1 murder or representation of their strength.
3% of French, mostly women & railway workers, disrupted the Nazi supply chain. IE: hiding tunnels.
If not for the Gazan "allies", Arab states don't give a ff, this would have over long ago with 2 states.

Hamas is entrenched. And the number of disenfranchised Gazans will only add more fodder for the future support of Hamas - or some crazed dissidents just like them.
While a few exceptional individuals may "see the light", a majority will likely only see what they've lived through as proof positive that Hamas is on their side - and they should be on the side of Hamas.

Israel means to let go of its stranglehold on Gaza, bring in the UN and other Arab nations and pass off control/policing to them.
