Police say they shot and seriously injured the man, who is receiving medical attention.

Notice they didn't kill him like in the US

In a country where the citizens do not carry guns, the police are not obliged to kill everyone.

I watched a drunk, deranged person throw barrels and saw horses at a group of cops on a street (it was Fest season) in Munich in the 90s. The cops backed up and let him drunkenly come at them until they could tackle him.
