Turning stone birdbath into fountain F/U - Black - 06-27-2024 Got it sort of done around dusk. Standard mortar bit and regular drill got the 1/2" holes drilled (the stone wasn't quite as hard as expected, but drilling through cinder block was much harder than expected.) Now to figure out how to make the area around it look good. Also, as predicted by steve(3 dots) on prior thread, the water just kind of dribbles off the lip and down the base, was hoping I wouldn't have to modify the top at all but I guess I'll be coming at it with an angle grinder tomorrow. ![]() Re: Turning stone birdbath into fountain F/U - zachdog - 06-27-2024 Excellent DIY! Re: Turning stone birdbath into fountain F/U - Black - 06-27-2024 Thanks folks! Pump is supposedly rated 400 GPH, thought it would be overkill but now I wish I'd gone a little bigger. Gonna trim the screen and pond liner a bit more, fill the back with more limestone blocks (I have many) and maybe use some of these small square-ish granite blocks (I have many) to create a border. Gearing up for a bike trailer trip to Menard's for some river pebbles to fill it in. ![]() |
