Sony H9 ready to vie for P&S digi-champ - jimbrady - 02-27-2007

15X stabilized zoom, 3" TILTING (though not swiveling) LCD, and Night Shot(?). 8MP.

Not quite as wide (31mm) as the 18X Oly announced a couple weeks ago, but the LCD makes me happy. Memory Stick media makes me sad.

Makes you sad that you'd have to spend another $20 or 30 for 2 gigs of memory? It's not the end of the world. Hopefully, the glass is good.

Happy and sad are both relative.

Why did Sony drop the CF slot that they had in their old high end camera, the F828, they have both slots.
I have several 5GB cards, that and the four batteries I can shoot 8MP photos all weekend. About 1240 photos per card.

True enough.

Past weekend with the now slightly older H1 -

Sweet pic, Z.

Rusty: Sony's top model still has both slots, but it's a dSLR, not a P&S.

The R1 also has/had a CF slot. Too bad they discontinued it in the North American market.

Dang Z, I wish I could have been in that same spot. Great shot.

Just to hog some bandwidth, the previous shot from last Sunday was on the top, right side, of Flattop here (from last May)-
