I just clicked on an article: MacBook’s best feature has been forgotten by its users
It's about how people demanded the return of magsafe and now are asking to have it removed again in favor of another USBC port... at least that's what they are claiming people are wanting...

I rarely charge via MagSafe because my MBP is almost always plugged into an OWC Thunderbolt Doc.

I still like magsafe. I'm on the couch a lot, and the stiff USB charging is a liability for breaking a USB port. Same for any non-magnetic charging port.
So, like, why do I have to give up something I find valuable because a small subset of "power users" have a bag full of peripherals they want to run simultaneously...yet can't find space in their bag for a hub?

Yeah... I use MagSafe unless I'm "docked" at my desk. (I'm usually NOT "docked" at my desk... maybe 4-8 hours a week...)

It’s a nice feature and I use it when I am on travel. So much easier to just use a usb cable then bringing along the MagSafe cable.

You can also get a MagSafe style adapter for USB C ports. Some are better than others, read reviews on Amazon.

I learned that a couple of months ago when my third magsafe cord crapped out - it certainly beats spening more $$ for another magsafe.

My laptop is my main work computer (hope to replace it with an M4 MacMini), and it gets charged through the USB-C monitor connector. They got it for me for use with a Dell laptop, but the Dell gets limited use.
I go back to the MagSafe when I travel.
