A rather boring AI update. 128GB minimum storage is a plus. I was hoping for an OLED display of some sort (not as fancy as the pros), but nope. No reason to upgrade from the 6, but solid specs for a new purchaser.

Thanks, good info there.

Basically across-the-board spec updates, plus apple pencil support.

I might bite. I've been wanting one with apple pencil support.

I could get $230 off with trade in from my Mini 6. Tempting at $269.

Sekker,

Thank you for the heads up. I'm about to put a new battery into my Mini 6 for $119 at Apple. Might reconsider if i can get a similarly equipped Mini 7 with cellular at a nice discount.

Now I just have to wait to see what Apple is doing for the other updates that likely, i.e. Mac Mini.

Robert

Hardware changes aside, is it otherwise still the same form factor?

Re: new iPad Mini! - RAMd®d - 10-15-2024

It's slab-sided.

Was that the same with the 6?

I've got a 5 mini, so an upgrade is a possibility.

Re: new iPad Mini! - RAMd®d - 10-15-2024

And as it's Apple, there will be at least one dimension difference than the 6 which will mean cases won't fit.

Of course button locations may also be different which would make my first point irrelevant.

Dimensions and weight are exactly the same, and everything else looks to be the same (buttons/camera).
