FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - hal - 11-28-2024 I used to go to googlenews and read a whole buncha stuff I saw there. On twitter, I follow about 10 DC reporters, but a while back I separated my DC news and hockey news tweeps into two separate lists so I could timeshift watching hockey and still see current news. I only look at the hockey list now - haven't checked the reporters list since the election. On Googlenews, I skim and scan - I don't read anything about Trump or his crazy appointments. I will see headlines and that's enough - too much sometimes. I'm sick of liberal news telling me how stupid trump is and that this latest thing is gonna send everyone over the edge and turn on him - or something like that. They are always stroking me for being a good liberal. I just bought a camper - I'm planning on spending a lot of time away from cell towers for a while. I want to begin my day with positive feelings but I also feel a need to remain informed. Re: FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - sekker - 11-29-2024 You are not alone. There is a mass exodus from ANY platform that still covers news - Twitter/X to threads or BlueSky for example. BlueSky has not abandoned news per se, but it's still an emerging platform that not nearly as much 'news' is broken there. Facebook, Instagram - no news. Cable TV ratings are plummeting. My wife is nearly out of the modern news bubble. Re: FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - AllGold - 11-29-2024 Same here. I think it's pretty common for liberals after the election. I still listen to Progress on SiriusXM when I'm in the car, but that's about it. Re: FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - Spock - 11-29-2024 NPR for the win. Re: FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - Speedy - 11-29-2024 Not me. Every time I drive I listen to the hate radio station to know what propaganda the cult is getting. I know, it’s not really news. Re: FYI - my consumption of news has dropped by about 80% - gabester - 11-29-2024 Apparently 70% of Americans now consume their news from FOX News an entertainment company. I ask because I cannot think of a single close family or friend who listens to FAUX News unless it's trying to understand what others are thinking.
