So it appears SpaceX made the same mistake twice now, in losing Starship.... - Carnos Jax - 03-08-2025 This is not a criticism of SpaceX's rapid prototyping methods, as it's proven to be just as effective as all in testing done by traditional rocket makers. However, SpaceX has always shown progress from one flight test to the next. This time though, they appeared to have made the same mistake that cost them them last Starship. Those of you who follow SpaceX more closely, what's going on? Should we be worried that they're losing competency? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJCjGt7jUkU Re: So it appears SpaceX made the same mistake twice now, in losing Starship.... - Carnos Jax - 03-08-2025 What also I heard is their engineers didn't get a chance to finish their investigation of what caused last flights mishap. Re: So it appears SpaceX made the same mistake twice now, in losing Starship.... - Tiangou - 03-08-2025 We should be worried that there are no more folks at the FAA performing oversight of their launch plans, governing their flight paths, and grounding them before they take stupid risks. I think it’s a sign that he thinks this lack of progress is due to him spending all of the time with DOGE. I think he’s singular of his generation keeping people focused. At the same time, Starship is perhaps the hardest technical challenge ever attempted in rocket engineering. They did capture the booster this time. For any other company, that would be something to celebrate. |
